This month, some of our staff took part in Movember's annual 'Grow A Mo' challenge to help raise money and awareness for men's health.
Our chaps had 4 weeks to grow the most impressive moustache they could, however, before we share their results, let’s talk a bit about the charity itself.
Movember are the leading charity changing the face of men’s health including mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
The Foundation raises awareness and puts on fundraising activities throughout the year, with Movember being globally recognised for its fun, disruptive approach to fundraising and getting men to take action for their health.
Currently, men are dying on average 5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons.
A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis.
Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men.
And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides.
These facts are devastating, and these stats need to change.
Movember is uniquely placed to address this crisis on a global scale, funding groundbreaking projects all over the world, engaging men where they are to understand what works best and accelerate change.
They unite experts from around the world to collaborate on projects that will fundamentally change the way men in need are treated and supported. To ensure their impact is significant, far-reaching and long-lasting, they prioritise funding for the three biggest health issues facing men: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer.
So, let’s take a look at how our guys got on;
WEEK 1
WEEK 3
WEEK 4
Our guys smashed their £500 target raising a whopping £601.25!
A great effort by all – including Georgia! – and an incredible amount of money raised for such a worthy cause.
