An Exciting Sponsorship Announcement!

BQI Insurance are thrilled to announce the proud sponsorship of former-BQI employee, British adventurer and media personality Paris Norriss and his team Brothers 'N Oars in the 2023 Pacific Ocean Row Challenge – one of the toughest races on Earth!

Paris was a member of BQI’s New Business Team in our original London Office back in 2008 / 2009 so it’s an honour to be able to support him and the team on this incredible challenge they’re about to embark upon together.

In June 2023, after 2 years of guided physical, mental and emotional training, the Brothers ‘N Oars team (Oliver Amos, Harry Amos, Barney Lewis and Paris Norriss), will be competing with other teams of up to 4 crew members in identical boats, self-supported and unassisted from their start in Monterey California, all the way to Hawaii which will take around 40 days and nights to achieve.

As a confirmed sponsor for the team, you’ll spot our BQI Insurance branding on the boat as the guys take on this daunting and exhausting challenge which is going to push their mental and physical capabilities beyond imaginable limits.

Each team will row in excess of 1.5 million oar strokes during the race, and each rower will burn up to 12,000 calories each day. The rowers will row for 2 hours and sleep for 2 hours, constantly, for 24 hours a day. They’ll also aim to consume at least 10 litres of water per day – oh, and there’s no toilet on board either!

Brothers ‘N Oars will create its own documentary series along the way, all episodes of which will be broadcast exclusively across Amazon Prime Video, Xtreme Sports Network, Fox-tubi and Apple TV+ so we hope you’ll be joining us in watching their challenge unfold!

Whilst the team have been working tirelessly to mitigate risks with their intense preparation and training, the potential risks and catastrophes these guys are taking on are pretty colossal, so stay tuned to our BQI social pages where we’ll be sharing all the exciting updates along the way.

We wish the Brothers ‘N Oars team the very best of luck and we can’t wait to watch their journey unfold…!
