Co-Founder & Director

Sean Quinn is a Co-Founder and a Company Director. BQI was founded in 2006 on a desire to put the customer first at every opportunity and provide an unrivalled service. Sean started his career in insurance in his late teens and there is not much he has not seen. Starting out as a commercial underwriter when transactions were still recorded in triplicate on carbon paper, Sean quickly progressed through the ranks of a major UK insurer. An invitation then arose to join the broking world and this developed into a number of exciting and challenging roles ultimately leading to Sean and Andrew forming BQI.

When Sean’s not working, he’s enjoying family life, often outdoors or enjoying time with friends.

Leanne Howes is Head of Sales at BQI, leading a team of multi-disciplined Account Executives. Leanne and her team are focussed on growing and developing the business by finding the most comprehensive & competitively priced insurance solutions for their clients whilst delivering unrivalled service levels. 


Leanne joined us in July 2020 with over 15 years insurance & leadership experience. She has experience placing all types of insurance across the Construction sector from Liabilities & Contractors All Risks to Professional Indemnity, Bonds and Guarantees.  

When Leanne isn’t working, she’s busy being a mum of two boys, taking any opportunity to enjoy spending time with the family.

Rory Quinn is our Business Systems Analysis Manager overseeing the continual development of our business systems. Rory is responsible for ensuring we continually remain ahead of the game with robust systems to support our client service excellence. Rory’s highly respected within BQI, has an extensive knowledge of our systems, processes and clients alike!  

Rory joined us in 2007, straight from University, originally as an Account Handler and developed his experience, knowledge and career with us.

When Rory’s not at work, he’s walking with his wife and two dogs or discovering new music.

Andrew Brown is a Co-Founder and a Company Director. Andrew and Sean started BQI in 2006 quickly developing the brokerage into a competitive force. Their success has been a collaborative team effort built on trust, recognising strengths, blending characters and positive teamwork to find the right solutions for their customers. Before forming BQI, Andrew started his insurance career at a motor insurance broker, then moved into Commercial Sales. Following his time working for a leading Reinsurance Broker, he realised his passion was dealing with the cut & thrust of direct UK Commercial Insurance.

When Andy’s not working, he’ll be spending time with his wife and son, or getting time on the golf course

Charlie Fossey is New Business Sales Manager at BQI, leading a team of Account Executives. Charlie and his team are focussed on building strong new relationships with clients by finding the most comprehensive & competitively priced insurance solutions, whilst delivering unrivalled service levels.


Charlie joined us in October 2019 as a Corporate Account Executive to assist in the growth of the newly founded New Business Team, and is delighted to be in this new position to continue this growth and lead the team forward at this exciting time in insurance.

Outside of work Charlie can usually be found playing with Barbies (mostly alongside his daughter) or watching Tottenham




Amy Lester is our Operations Manager, leading our Client Services Team. Amy and the team are focussed on delivering an excellent client journey, proactively supporting our clients with any support they need, delivering best in class service.


Amy joined us in July 2020 and has a wealth of insurance experience ranging from client services, sales and renewals. Amy is passionate about collaborative working to ensure a seamless and effective client experience from initial sale, through to client onboarding and renewal.

When Amy isn’t working, she’s out with her Alaskan German Shepherd or baking up some delicious treats!

Tamara Gillies is our Claims Manager, leading a team of multi-disciplined Claims Handlers. Tamara and her team pride themselves on providing clients with a proactive, best in class claims experience, so our clients can get on with doing what they do best.

Tamara joined us in April 2019, after gaining significant claims and leadership experience within an insurer.

When Tamara isn’t working, she’s looking after her two pugs, or drinking cocktails with friends.
